big idea other idea

perspective-
what is your perspective or outlook on life? that in order to fully fulfill life  you must follow the three l's and always live, love, and laugh.
where do you gain perspective? from the people you see and the places you go.
whats important about having a perspective on things? it can glorify or change the way you see things and have great influence on the way you perceive other things.

“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.”
Abraham Lincoln

perspective, can be found through what you see to where you walk. No one perspective is the same, and every ones can change.  Perspective is about having feeling and a sense of awareness when being somehwhere. My outlook standing on the green grass of earth consist of three words. Live, Love, and Laugh and with those words by outlook on life has become inevitable.

intervention ideas

-cut out square blocks of different designed fabric, then cut out the letters of something you find inspirational-put on front door

Intervention Art Rubric

- In your own words, what is intervention?
Intervention is a way of making someone think or feel in a different light. A change of meaning or purpose or outlook on something

- What was the purpose of this exercise?

I think the purpose of this exercise was to make students think and express themselves in a way that would affect more than one person.

- Why did you choose to intervene the way you did? I’m looking for more than “I thought it would be funny” or “no one would expect it.”  What social/personal/human issue did you intend to comment on? Why? How? I wanted to make something that so when someone walked by it, it made them stop and think. I think the purpose of my video was to make people think about others or things in general they never stop to take the time to think about (realization).

- Why did you choose the location? I’m looking for more thought than “lots of people would be there, so I went there.” How did the location play up your specific idea? I wanted to use my the side of my house near my flower beds because its on the side and lots of people could walk by and see/comment on it. I chose a really windy day though so none of my post cards stayed up long enough for me to get a reaction and add lollipops.

- Name three specific examples, ideas, artworks or statements you observed in class that helped you plan for this project.

-learningtoloveyoumore- Dancing inside local shops video
- flower potting video in random places outside

Now pull from all of your answers and write a succinct, coherent three paragraph artist statement about your intervention artwork. Use descriptive language. Explain yourself like the intelligent person you are.

Embed the video on your blog and post your artist statement under it. See my example if you need help.
One slight change of the day can make you think worlds away.
This video is an attempt at an intervention piece of artwork. In this video a young girls goal is to speak the unspoken. Her ideas lead her outside an old rickety side house where old pots of flower sit and sway in the mild wind. In a neighborhood where people are constantly walking, she decided to make a voice of thought, without using any voice at all.

Her next step to making a voice in a voiceless neighborhood was gathering the material that would one attract attention and two disrupt the normal day. The young girl chooses a piece of floral fabric and tapes it scantly on the side of the rickety old house. She then begins to post a thought she thinks will make others think.
With this post of thought she has not only made others wonder what she is doing, but what she is thinking. And that alone makes us think in a different perspective. One slight change of the day can make you think worlds away

rolling stones article

After she failed what we thought was her final attempt at a solving a murder mystery, the one hit wonder detective is at it again. With 12 consecutive murders dismissed miss Adams has hit quite the downward spiral, but feels as though “with the right tools, the right evidence, and a key eye no case will go unsolved.”
After her first case miss adams held on to her magnify glass tightly stating "Its the old fashion roots that make a good detective, a note pad, pencil, an eye glass, a secretive attitude she laughed." "When you're a detective, no one knows what you know, and thats the best part." It wasn't until the 20 year old detective made it to her fifth case that she became a prominent threat in the criminal society. On scene with her father the the young detective bagged the alleged weapon used on the victim, found by a dumpster, next to a bloody shirt. Miss Adams claims "it was the best day knowing that i put a man behind bars that had the potential of killing more people than we'll ever know." But what we all stop to ponder is why the detective has yet to solve another case.
After sitting down at a sunny street cafe in downtown Columbus with the young detective i learned the thrill of solving murders, and what it takes to get inside the head of a true killer. We talked about what it takes to break down a killer, and make them submit to the truth of their action. She even went as far to explain the suspects interactions, and how body language can speak a thousand words. And then went on to say "most of the people that commit murder ask for a lawyer and don't want to talk to us" She laughed and said "i wouldn't either, we know everything their too afraid to say, where they were, what they were doing, even who they were with, down to the exact times." She talked more about what separates a good detective from a bad, and concluded with "These killers that we walk amongst are smarter than you think, their lives arent the same as ours. They're glorified with drugs, running the streets, and being the ultimate threat. When we are all sitting down drinking coffee, they're out planning their next hit. " she giggled again and said "if you could only see the things they come up with, you wouldn't even think of it."
